Philadelphia Flyers Fire Laviolette, Hire Berube

The Philadelphia Flyers fired their head coach Peter Laviolette today after an 0-3 start who was in his fifth year as the Flyers coach. They hired Laviolette's assistant coach Craig Berube to become the Flyers head coach. The terms and length of Berube's contract have not been disclosed. Ian Laperriere who was the Flyers director of player development for the past year has reportedly been hired as an assistant coach with Kjell Samuelsson taking over Lapierre's duties as directory of player development. Derian Hatcher will be his assistant.
